Dr Farooq has 15 years of experience working as a Psychiatrist. She completed her training in Psychiatry with the Charring Cross scheme specialising in general adult psychiatry and addictions.

Dr Farooq has a wealth of experience across acute inpatient and community mental health services; specialising in undertaking high quality complex assessment and managing complex psychiatric conditions.

Dr Farooq treats a wide range of disorders from mild to severe illnesses. She specialises in diagnosis and treatment of first episode psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, treatment resistant depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and adult ADHD. She is also experienced in treating dual diagnosis of mental disorder and substance misuse.

Dr Farooq will complete a comprehensive assessment and formulation followed by a detailed treatment plan. Her approach is underpinned by evidence-based medicine, focussed on individualised care and treatment, tailored to the patient’s individual needs and preferences.

Dr Farooq is multi-lingual and speaks English, Kashmiri, Urdu and Hindi and can conduct consultations in these languages.
